To ensure quality control in the production of printed circuit boards, tests are conducted by manufacturers in compliance with the Joint Electron Devices Engineering Council or JEDEC guidelines. JEDEC is associated with the EIA or the Electronic Industries Alliance which is a trade association representing all areas of the United States’ electronics industry. Some of the world’s largest computer companies are members of JEDEC.
